What's with membership?
The site is open to anyone, member or not, but only members can post discussion messages.
What do I have to do to be a member?
Sign up ... and be reasonably polite in your posted messages.
What if I'm not polite?
Your message may be deleted and you may be blocked from future posting.
What happens to my computer if I sign up?
Your computer gets a cookie. This lets the server know that your computer is a member. Not perfect. So if you're using a shared machine, don't forget to sign out. Otherwise you might be embarrassed by a message someone else posts in your name.
I don't want to check back all the time to see if someone answers my message.
When you post a message you have the option to receive direct responses to the message via email. Just check the box below your message that offers that option, and click on the "Submit" button.
Is the membership list open?
Nope! Your privacy is protected. The list is not passed on either. We have a thing about privacy.
What if I forget my password?
The Log In form has an option for that. Your password will be mailed to you automatically. BTW, none of our editors has access to your password.
Editors? Who are the editors?
See the "About" page.
